Shawarma is a popular Middle Eastern-style dish, often made with spiced marinated meat and served with salad, flatbread, yoghurt, or tahini dressing.

Ingredients - serves 6.
Chicken
4 chicken breasts
2 tbsp olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tbsp shawarma-style seasoning:
cumin, paprika, coriander,
cinnamon and chilli
1 tbsp natural yoghurt
Salad
1 bag mixed salad or chopped lettuce
½ cucumber, sliced
200g cherry tomatoes, halved
2 carrots, grated
2 peppers, sliced
Dressing
200g natural yoghurt
1 tbsp tahini
Juice of ½ lemon
How to prepare
Mix the chicken with the oil, lemon juice, garlic, seasoning and yoghurt.
Leave for 30 minutes, then cook until fully cooked through.
Chop and mix the salad vegetables.
Mix the yoghurt, tahini and lemon juice for the dressing.
Slice the chicken and serve with the salad and dressing.
